Terms of service
AskLine is a personal phone assistant you reach at (925) ASK-LINE and on this website. AskLine is a phone service, not a live person, a doctor, a lawyer, or a bank.
Answers are for general guidance. For medical, legal, or financial decisions, or in any emergency, contact a qualified professional or call 911. AskLine reminds you of this on the call whenever those topics come up, and it will not help with anything dangerous or unlawful.
During a call, AskLine may search the web to answer your question. Web lookups are included in your plan and use your call minutes like any other conversation — there is no separate charge for them.
The plan is billed monthly to the card you provide. You can cancel at any time on the phone or on this site, and you will not be charged again. Charges already made are not refunded for partial months unless the law where you live says otherwise.
One plan covers one phone number. Do not use AskLine for anything unlawful or to harm others.
Privacy
We keep what we need to run the service: the phone number and confirmed email on the plan, subscription status, reminder and contact preferences, consent records, and delivery records.
We use call audio and transcripts only to answer you and improve the service. We do not sell your information. We share it only with companies that carry calls, send email, provide web search, and process payments, and only so they can do those jobs.
So AskLine can pick up where you left off, we keep one small note per phone number — things like a first name, the kind of phone you use, and what you were last working on. It is a few sentences at most, it is rewritten after each call, and full conversations are not kept. Say “forget everything” on any call and the note is erased right away.
Card numbers are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. When you pay over the phone, you type the card number on your keypad and it goes directly to the payment system. AskLine never hears or stores it.
To see or delete your information, call (925) ASK-LINE or write to privacy@askline.co.
Calls, email, and paying by phone
AskLine places reminder calls only after you specifically agree to receive them. Each call identifies AskLine and lets you stop future reminder calls. You can also change this permission on your account. There are no quiet hours because reminders are sent at the time you chose.
If you provide and confirm an email address, AskLine may email lists you requested, missed-reminder backups, and account messages. You can remove the address, reply “unsubscribe,” or use the unsubscribe link in an email.
When someone sets up AskLine for another person, the account holder can separately choose whether to receive a brief caregiver alert by email or call. This is off by default. Alerts do not include a diagnosis or private details and are not an emergency service.
Calls with AskLine may be recorded so the service can answer you and keep a record of your plan. If you pay or cancel by phone, we confirm it out loud on the call. AskLine does not send text messages.
